As a family-owned and operated company, we at Lake Country Decks have always put the customer’s satisfaction first. We want to build your deck exactly the way you envision it, down to the last detail. That’s why we never hire subcontractors. Not hiring sub-contractors allows us to unsure the work is done to the "Lake Country Standards" and by the team you hired, not the team we hired.

We are a small, close-knit team, and we choose our employees carefully. We invest heavily in each team member’s training so that we can be confident in the quality of our work.

We take our role as local deck builders seriously, keeping up to date on the latest developments in the industry so that we can always provide our customers with the best products. So, whether you want to build a simple, ground-level deck or an elevated structure with a pergola on top and a screen porch below, Lake Country Decks can deliver.

Our founder and owner, Dustin Smith, got his start in construction building homes. It was meant to be a simple summer job as he transitioned out of college, but he fell in love with the building process. From there, he and a small crew began building decks for a custom homebuilder. That crew eventually became Lake Country Decks, an independent, award-winning deck construction company serving homeowners throughout Minnesota and beyond.

Outside of work, Dustin enjoys spending time with his family, taking his three kids to the hockey rink, and playing golf.
